Game recap

A very long trip for seven points

Brock Purdy threw three touchdowns as San Francisco beat the Rams 27–7 in Melbourne. Mike Evans, Demarcus Robinson and Deebo Samuel each caught a score, giving the 49ers plenty to enjoy in the NFL's first regular-season game in Australia.

The Rams arrived roughly a day before kickoff; the 49ers had spent the week there. That alone doesn't explain a 20-point loss, but Los Angeles managed to make an international trip look like it needed another practice.
